A 26-year-old Springfield woman died early Tuesday, Aug. 4, when the vehicle she was driving left Interstate 44 and overturned, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A 28-year-old male passenger was taken to Cox Medical Center South with minor injuries.
The crash occurred at 1:45 a.m. in Lawrence County, about three miles east of Mt. Vernon. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was driving a 2017 Jeep Patriot.
