A new comedy series, ‘Wildwood’, is in development at FX, from Irish writer Lisa McGee, the creator of ‘Derry Girls’. The series will follow a group of college girls visiting New Jersey from Ireland in the summer of 2000.
Creator’s Background
McGee’s ‘Derry Girls’ became a hit after first airing on Britain’s Channel 4 in 2018 and later landing on Netflix. The show follows a group of messy, raunchy, and zany teens at an all-girls Catholic school in the 1990s during the Troubles conflict in Northern Ireland.
‘Wildwood’ marks McGee’s first U.S.-based project and will be developed with 20th Television and FX. McGee will serve as creator and executive producer.
