Star Wars Exhibit Lands at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force

Starting Friday, May 22, the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Riverside will host an exciting new exhibit titled “Iconic Starfighters: Rivals of the Silver Screen.” This exhibit offers visitors a chance to explore full-scale, fan-created spacecraft inspired by some of the most recognizable designs from the beloved Star Wars films. The exhibit is set to run through December 31, 2026, providing ample opportunity for fans and families to experience the craftsmanship and detail involved in bringing these science fiction-inspired designs to life.

Exhibit Details

The temporary exhibit will be located in the museum’s fourth building special exhibit space. It is part of a private collection on loan from the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), with financial support from the Air Force Museum Foundation. The full-scale recreations were meticulously crafted by FireWatch Design Studios, known for their attention to detail and dedication to authenticity.

Last summer, COSI unveiled its “Unofficial Galaxies” exhibit in Columbus, which celebrated the cultural impact of space operas like Star Wars through art, costumes, and sculptures. This new exhibit at the Air Force Museum continues that celebration, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Star Wars.

The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is conveniently located on Springfield Street at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base gate 28B in Riverside.
