A tragic incident occurred in Passaic, New Jersey, where a 10-year-old boy lost his life while trying to save his sister in a rain-swollen river. The boy’s sister, who is also 10 years old, was rescued, but another 10-year-old girl is still missing.
Rescue Efforts
According to Passaic Mayor Hector Lora, the boy pushed his sister towards the rocks, allowing her to climb to safety before he went under. The search for the missing girl is ongoing, with multiple boats, divers, drones, and sonar technology being used.
The incident occurred in Pulaski Park, where the three children were seen in the Passaic River. The cause of how they ended up in the river is still unclear, but heavy rainfall in the region had caused the water level to rise.
A man in the park attempted to rescue the children before the first responders arrived but was unable to reach them due to the strong current and deep water.
