The Dallas Cowboys are set to open their training camp with a revamped defense and full participation from all players. Owner Jerry Jones, along with Stephen Jones and Brian Schottenheimer, addressed the media on Tuesday to discuss the team’s expectations for the 2026 NFL season.

Defense Overhaul

The Cowboys had an active offseason, focusing on rebuilding their defense, which underperformed in 2025. First-time defensive coordinator Christian Parker will lead the unit. The team conducted as many as 45 coaching interviews as part of the overhaul.

Owner Jerry Jones expressed his satisfaction with the team’s quiet offseason, despite the significant changes made to the defense. He also mentioned that the team is open to acquiring a big-name defensive player to further improve their chances.

Offensive Expectations

The Cowboys’ offense is expected to build on its strong 2025 season, with quarterback Dak Prescott and coach Brian Schottenheimer aiming for a Super Bowl win. Jones is letting them lead the team with confidence, rather than driving the narrative himself.
