A Paragould man, Jason William Davidson, has been accused of head-butting a police officer and making death threats. He faces six charges, including three counts of first-degree terroristic threatening, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.

Incident Details

According to the probable cause affidavit, police responded to multiple reports of a disorderly man in the Royal Street area on July 22. The man, later identified as Davidson, was allegedly threatening neighbors, running toward vehicles, and throwing objects. When officers contacted him, he went inside his residence.

Later, around 10:27 p.m., officers recognized Davidson walking near the B Street Apartments. He was sweating profusely, appeared irate, and began screaming at officers. Police reported smelling a strong odor of intoxicants and moved to arrest him for public intoxication.

Davidson allegedly fled up a staircase, pulled away from officers, and backed onto a deck. He continued struggling and told officers, “I’ll beat the fuck out of all of you,” before they placed him in handcuffs. As officers escorted him toward a patrol vehicle, Davidson allegedly head-butted one officer and kicked another in the leg.

Davidson was taken to a hospital and cleared as fit for incarceration. During booking at the jail, officers found him in possession of less than 2 grams of methamphetamine. His threats of injury and death continued toward jail staff.

Charges and Bond

District Judge Curtis Hitt found probable cause and set Davidson’s bond at $250,000 surety. If released, Davidson must wear an ankle monitor, have no contact with the victims or witnesses, and possess no weapons.
