A train collided with an unoccupied car in Hartford early Monday morning. Dispatchers received reports of a collision involving a train and a car near Reserve Road around 1:30 a.m.
According to police, the train was found about two miles north of the area with a 2003 Honda Accord affixed to the front. The vehicle was reportedly unoccupied at the time of the collision and there were no injuries reported.
Investigators said the train engineer reported a large gathering of cars and motorcycles in the area and described a large group of people shooting off fireworks at the train as it passed. The collision caused minor damage to the train.
