The Platte River Gun Club is bringing back its free Kids Fun Shoot event, scheduled for Saturday, August 1. This event is open to all kids aged 8-16 and is designed to teach them about firearm safety, sportsmanship, and responsibility.
Event Details
The event will feature three age classes (8-10, 11-13, and 14-16) and will include target shooting, sportsmanship, and learning to safely handle and use a firearm under the supervision of certified range officers and skilled adults. Lunch, drinks, and prizes are all included in the free event.
Parents or guardians are required to accompany their children to the range. The event aims to give kids the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, shooting, and hanging out with other kids who share similar interests.
Kids are encouraged to bring their own .22 rifles and ammunition if they have them, but the club will also provide .22s and ammo for those who don’t have their own. Eye and hearing protection is required, and some will be provided for those who don’t have it.
