A research study in North Texas, called the Harvesting Health Study, is seeking pregnant women in their first trimester to participate. The study, a partnership between the City of Mansfield, Methodist Mansfield, and the Texas A&M AgriLife Institute for Advancing Health, aims to understand how healthy food can improve the health of pregnant mothers and their unborn children.
Study Details
The study will use a mobile health assessment center with state-of-the-art equipment to assess maternal and infant biometrics. Participants must be carrying one baby, own a smartphone, and speak English or Spanish. They must also be willing to travel to one of several counties in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for in-person data collection visits.
Participants may receive $725, $25 worth of diapers, and possibly personalized food kits tailored to their pregnancy. The study’s findings are expected to inform local efforts in Mansfield and contribute to broader conversations on maternal and child health across the country.
