A fire tore through a garage at a home in Cary early Thursday morning. Around 2:45 a.m., Cary Fire Department crews responded to a call for a fire near Holland Bend Drive. They arrived to find flames showing from the exterior part of the home. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control.
Investigators determined the fire started in the garage and one vehicle was completely destroyed. The family inside the home were alerted by smoke detector alarms and made it out of the residence safely, according to fire officials. It’s unclear how many people will be displaced.
Cary Fire Department is investigating the cause of the incident.
