Iowa’s ‘Stop the Scammers’ tour, a partnership between the Iowa Attorney General’s Office, the Iowa Department of Insurance and Financial Services, and AARP Iowa, has led to 19 fraud investigations as part of a statewide enforcement effort.
Fraud Investigations and Reported Losses
So far this year, investigators have opened more than 200 cases involving nearly $80 million in reported losses. The ‘Stop the Scammers’ tour aims to educate Iowans on how to protect themselves from scams and report suspicious activity.
Anyone who suspects fraud can report it to the Iowa Fraud Fighters, a resource available to help Iowans navigate the process of reporting and preventing fraud.
