The House Oversight Committee has discussed with Jeffrey Epstein survivors the possibility of the women providing affidavits about longtime Epstein assistant Lesley Groff. This comes after multiple survivors told CNN that Groff had lied to the committee last month.
Epstein Survivors Speak Out
Epstein survivors, including Lara Blume McGee and Lisa Phillips, have come forward saying they met Groff in person, contrary to Groff’s claims. Another survivor, Marina Lacerda, said Groff regularly asked her detailed questions about new girls she planned to bring to Epstein and was sensitive to Epstein’s preference for younger girls.
Groff has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes and told lawmakers she was duped by a ‘master manipulator and deceiver.’ However, survivors have disputed her account, saying she knew their ages and even asked for their school IDs. The committee is reviewing Groff’s transcript and available evidence to determine if she lied to Congress.
Investigation Ongoing
The committee’s investigation into Epstein and his associates is ongoing. The possibility of affidavits from Epstein survivors could be a significant development in the case. Lying to Congress is a crime, and the committee is taking the accounts of Epstein survivors seriously.
