According to a recent survey, half of Americans are looking to change their wellness routines in 2026, with many simplifying their approach by focusing on baseline habits such as quality sleep, regular movement, and foundational nutrition.
Shift Towards Simplification
The research, conducted by Talker Research on behalf of The Vitamin Shoppe, found that 44% of Americans are simplifying their wellness approach, while 21% are pursuing more advanced optimization strategies. This shift is especially pronounced among younger adults, with 65% of Gen Zers looking to change their wellness approach this year, compared to 31% of baby boomers.
Despite the information overload, half of those polled feel empowered by the ever-increasing amount of health and wellness information, products, and technology available today. However, one-third feel overwhelmed and fatigued by it all.
Supplement Use and Priorities
The survey also found that 56% of respondents currently take at least one dietary supplement to support their nutritional health and performance. Additionally, 69% of respondents are actively trying to increase their fiber intake through food, supplements, or both.
Respondents are also paying closer attention to what’s inside supplement formulas, with 37% saying ingredients now matter more than the brand name, and 40% weighing both equally.
