Russia stated that any multinational force sent to Ukraine after a peace deal would be viewed as a threat and a legitimate military target. This comes as Western allies met in Paris to reaffirm their intention to deploy such a force to reassure Ukraine and help it regenerate its forces.

She emphasized that this would amount to foreign intervention and an escalation of threats to Russia’s security, and such units would be regarded as legitimate military targets.
