DART changed its public bus routes on June 14th, reducing bus stops from 27 to 11. The changes have brought faster trips, but also more limited hours.
Rider Reactions
Some frequent riders welcome the change. “I think it’s more efficient than it used to be for sure. I notice also the drivers; they seem to be more aware of like, their surroundings and what’s going on with the different passengers,” said Nicholas Solis.
Others, like Mychal Hudson, wish it was what it used to be. He says getting to places on time has been tougher.
DART is open to community feedback. “We know that there’s a lot of changes, we have our customer service that’s still there for people to ask for help from, and our website ridedart.com can be really helpful for people to navigate,” said Luis Montoya, Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer of DART.
In August, DART will start an additional service to help DMPS students with rides to school.
