Salem will be hosting several events this week, starting with an outdoor art fair at Woodmansee Park on Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19. The fair will feature local artists, performers, and community workshops, including a sword fighting basics class and a stamp carving workshop.
Ironman 70.3 Race
The Ironman 70.3 race will take place on Sunday, July 19, with racers jumping into the Willamette River at 6 a.m. The event will include a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run through Minto-Brown Island Park and back to Riverfront Park.
Other events include the MIG Fest music festival at Minto Island Growers, featuring punk and ska bands, and the Hoopla basketball event near the Capitol entrance. The Oregon Judicial Department will also be hosting free tours of the historic state Supreme Court building on Tuesday, July 21.
