A pecan shelling and distribution facility has chosen Colorado Springs as its new home, bringing around 50 new jobs with an average annual wage of $76,000. The facility will be located at Peak Innovation Park on the southeast side of the city.
Economic Impact
Around $50 million in capital investment is going to be brought into Colorado Springs, officials say. The company also looked at locations in Texas and New Mexico before deciding on Colorado Springs.
The city says it is offering the company an incentive package, which includes the Rapid Response Program. The program helps expedite the reviewing and approval of land use applications, as well as helping companies get a faster response to building permits.
