A weeklong campaign is cracking down on speeding drivers in Florida and other southern states. Starting on Monday, law enforcement agencies are launching Operation Southern Slow Down to help reduce speed-related crashes on highways and interstates.
Enforcement Effort
The enforcement effort will run through Saturday, July 18 with officers increasing patrols and watching closely for speeding drivers. According to the Florida Law Enforcement Liaison Program, Operation Southern Slow Down is conducted in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Region IV states of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
