U.S. Senator Rick Scott released a statement following the news of the sudden passing of fellow U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham.
A Dedicated Public Servant
Scott expressed shock and heartbreak over the unexpected loss of the veteran South Carolina lawmaker, offering condolences alongside his wife. “Anne and I are shocked and heartbroken to learn of the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham,” Scott said. “We ask that you join us in keeping his family, friends, and team in your prayers during this time.”
Graham served in both chambers of Congress over a multi-decade career in Washington and was widely recognized for his prominent roles in national security discussions and his service as an Air Force lawyer.
Scott highlighted Graham’s background and his rise from modest beginnings to the upper echelons of American government. “Lindsey was a good friend and a dedicated public servant for the people of South Carolina and the United States,” Scott stated. “He knew what it was like to rise up from difficult circumstances and build a life of purpose.”
Funeral arrangements and official memorial services have not yet been announced.
