The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly being sold to tech investor Vinod Khosla and his family, according to ESPN. Khosla is currently a limited partner in the San Francisco 49ers and would be required to sell his stake in the franchise as part of the transaction.
Record-Breaking Sale
The sale still requires approval from NFL owners before it can be finalized. If completed, the reported $9.6 billion purchase price would set a new record for the sale of an NFL franchise. Current owner Jody Allen announced plans to sell the Seahawks following the team’s Super Bowl victory earlier this year.
