On July 11, 7-Eleven offered free Slurpees to its customers. The store, located on the Mesa in Santa Barbara, saw many people taking advantage of the promotion. Some customers didn’t realize it was 7/11 day until they walked inside the store, while others came in specifically for the free treat.
Lots of kids mixed all the flavors, and some customers said they had to be careful not to get brain freeze from drinking their Slurpees too fast. One customer, Kaase Schooland, said that she and her family got Slurpees as a treat after doing yard work.
The store has at least half a dozen flavors to choose from, and the promotion seemed to be good for business.
