A moped driver is dead after an accident involving a truck on Middlebury Road early Saturday morning, according to Middlebury First Selectman Jennifer Mahr.
The driver of the moped died after being transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Mahr expressed her condolences, saying she is heartbroken for the loss and asked that the community rally around the family at their pace.
Region 15 will be announcing support services for affected students shortly.
