Alexander Zverev will attempt to upset Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon final on Sunday. Zverev, the first German to reach the men’s final at Wimbledon since Boris Becker in 1995, has been playing with newfound confidence after winning the French Open.
Zverev’s Road to the Final
Zverev’s wins over Jiri Lehecka, Taylor Fritz, and Arthur Fery in the second week of the tournament have been impressive, with his forehand becoming a key weapon. He struck 22 winners with his forehand against Fery, compared to eight on his backhand.
Sinner, on the other hand, has been dominant, dispatching Novak Djokovic in straight sets to reach his seventh Grand Slam final. Sinner has beaten Zverev nine times in a row, including winning the last 14 sets.
