An employee at Cloud World Smoke Shop in Cromwell is under arrest after an investigation into the sale of illegal fireworks. Cromwell police assisted the Fire Marshall’s Office with the investigation.
Five different types of illegal fireworks, 1,756 small nitrous oxide canisters, 35 large nitrous oxide canisters, several pounds of marijuana packaged for sale, packaging material, and $805 were seized from the employee’s vehicle.
27-year-old Marawan Abdelmegid was charged with possession with intent to sell a cannabis product, sale of restricted substances, and illegal possession and sale of fireworks. He is being held on a $20,000 bond and will appear at Middletown Superior Court if the bond is not posted.
