Heavy rain caused major problems in the Louisville area early Saturday. Torrential downpours brought big problems to parts of the area, with some locations picking up about 3 inches of rain.
High water caused major problems on I-64 in downtown Louisville, with a number of crashed vehicles seen on 64 eastbound near 9th Street after encountering high water. Several high water rescues were reported by emergency officials in Louisville.
Metrosafe reported a number of closed intersections due to trees and wires down, including Grinstead Drive at Cherokee Parkway, Lexington Road at Grinstead Drive, and Cherokee Parkway at Longest Avenue.
In Spencer County, KY, Mike Brown Rd and Elk Creek Rd had to be closed due to downed trees, according to the Taylorsville Spencer County Fire Protection District.
