A new summer enrichment program in New Braunfels is helping single mothers stay employed by providing free childcare. Family Promise of Greater New Braunfels, a local organization, identified the need for affordable childcare during the summer months and decided to act.

The Superhope Summer Enrichment Program offers a range of activities, including art classes, library activities, movies, swimming, and physical activities at the Westside Community Center. The program also partners with local food banks and school districts to provide free lunches.
According to Rachelle Garza-Cadena, executive director of Family Promise of Greater New Braunfels, the goal is to eventually open the program to the entire community across Comal County and Guadalupe County for families struggling to balance work and affordable childcare.
Mia Ramirez, the community impact intern for Family Promise of Greater New Braunfels, emphasized the importance of the program, saying it helps with children’s development and ensures they are being active and not getting addicted to technology.
