St. Petersburg artist Neverne Covington is set to debut her solo exhibition, Into the Mystic, at the Morean Arts Center. The exhibition will feature a collection of her work and will coincide with the July Second Saturday ArtWalk.
About the Artist
Covington, a longtime St. Petersburg resident, has made a living as a freelance illustrator and has worked with various companies, including Target and Dole Pineapple. She has also taught at Ringling and Eckerd colleges and currently teaches at the Morian Arts Center.
Covington’s work is characterized by its use of encaustic and topographic elements, which she describes as having a ‘visceral quality.’ She believes that her art is best experienced in person and encourages viewers to attend her exhibition to see her work up close.
In addition to her exhibition at the Morean Arts Center, Covington will also have three pieces featured in the ‘From Plate to Print’ show at the Florida History Museum, which will take place on July 15th.
