A 3-alarm fire broke out at the Cambridge Park Condominiums in Far Northeast Dallas, displacing 45 residents. The fire started around 10 p.m. and was battled by as many as 70 firefighters.
Fire Damage and Response
The building suffered serious damage, with the roof partially collapsing. At least 24 units were damaged, but thankfully, everyone made it out safely, with no injuries reported.
Residents described waking up in a panic, with one resident, Melissa Davidson, saying, “I just got up to check what was going on and as soon as I came out I saw the smoke coming out of the vents. I just ran inside, got my kids and my husband out. I just lost everything.”
The cause of the fire is still unknown, with the Dallas Fire Department investigating the incident.
