Derrick White, the NBA champion and Olympic gold medalist, has returned to Colorado Springs to be inducted into the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Hall of Fame. White’s journey to NBA stardom began at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where he developed into one of the top players in Division II basketball.

Early Career

Coming out of high school, White received no Division I scholarship offers, but he landed at UCCS, where he earned All-American honors. He credits the program and the people around him for helping shape the player he would become.

White’s path to NBA stardom is anything but conventional. He helped the Boston Celtics win an NBA championship and earned a gold medal with Team USA. Despite the success, Colorado Springs remains a special place in his story.

RMAC Hall of Fame Induction
