Boynton Beach police have increased the reward to $9,500 for information that helps identify and arrest the person responsible for the killing of 16-year-old Charles Morris, Jr.
Morris was found shot to death inside a vacant home in the Preserve community in June 2025. Police believe he may have been the victim of a robbery.
A Bright and Joyful Young Man
Morris’ uncle, Otis Evans, described his nephew as a bright and joyful young man. “CJ was a great kid, smart,” Evans said. “It’s hard to really talk about him now and stuff. He was fun. Kid was good.”
Evans said he and Morris spent years traveling the country together for motocross competitions. “This kid literally raced all over the nation as a young kid, you know what I mean? We went everywhere,” Evans said.
Morris’ mother, April, spoke to WPBF 25 News by phone. “He was my baby, my boy. He was my everything. I’m still mourning. My heart is shattered,” she said.
Both she and Evans said they want justice for Morris. Det. Sean Steele of the Boynton Beach Police Department said he hopes the increased reward helps them get it.
Evans urged anyone with information to come forward. “Just turned 16. He was just getting going. His life was just starting,” Evans said. “If you know something, obviously speak up. It’s the right thing to do. It would really help. Come forward. Speak up. Bring us a murderer. Bring us a killer.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
