A change of plea hearing was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for a man charged with sexually abusing a minor. Ross Nutter of Sheridan pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree and one count of sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree.
The State is recommending a prison sentence of 8 to 18 years for each of the two second degree charges and 8 to 15 years on the third degree charge. All of these sentences would run concurrent to one another. District Court Judge Darcy Phillips ordered that a pre-sentence investigation report be completed by the Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole and set sentencing for October 8th at 10 a.m.
