The Casper Balloon Roundup is set to take place this weekend, July 10-12, at Mike Sedar Park in Casper, Wyoming. The event will feature a Mass Launch at 6 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, where attendees can watch hot air balloons take to the sky.
Event Details
In the evening, David Street Station will host the annual Downtown Balloon Fest, featuring balloon pilots showcasing their gondolas along with live music, food trucks, and more. The event is a great opportunity for the community to come together and experience the magic of hot air balloons.
According to Balloon Meister Tamie Orr, hot air balloons are the oldest and safest form of aviation. Orr said, “There’s no greater joy than watching hot air balloons or flying in a hot air balloon. They’re beautiful. And putting on a balloon event allows me to bring hot air balloons, and the experience, to people.”
Casper Balloon Roundup Board Chairman Matt Kadlick encouraged community members to attend the morning setups to learn how the balloons operate. Kadlick said, “Walk up to the pilots, ask questions, and volunteer as crew. Most people start by crewing a balloon and, the next thing you know, it’s just something you do every year.”
The Casper Balloon Roundup is a family-friendly event that is fun for all ages. For more information, visit casperballoonroundup.com.
