The first rodeo performance of the Sheridan WYO Rodeo was last night. Kashton Ford out of Sturgis, South Dakota dazzled the crowd with an 87 point ride in barebacks. Kyler Dick out of Oakley, Utah was the fastest in the steer wrestling at 4 ½ seconds.
A sport that is often misunderstood, one commentator noted that people don’t realize how exciting and full-contact the sport of rodeo is, comparing it to ‘hockey on horseback’. This excitement and contact are what make the sport so thrilling to watch.
