Boston City Councilor Suffers Medical Emergency

Boston City Councilor Julia Mejia suffered a medical emergency during a meeting on Wednesday, sources told NBC10 Boston. Video from the meeting shows concerned colleagues on the council reacting as people yelled for help and called 911.

Boston EMS responded to the council chamber and transported a patient to an area hospital. Due to patient privacy laws, no further information was provided.

Mayor Michelle Wu spoke with Mejia afterward and was relieved to hear she is doing well. The mayor’s office wished Councilor Mejia a swift and full recovery.
