The Oklahoma City Thunder has named Curbside Enterprises as one of its 2026 Community Draft Picks, honoring the nonprofit’s work in workforce development and community support. Curbside Enterprises provides employment opportunities for individuals experiencing homelessness and offers various programs, including Curbside Chronicle, Curbside Flowers, and Curbside Apparel.
Supporting the Community
According to Whitley O’Connor, co-founder and CEO of Curbside Enterprises, the organization works with about 200 people at any given time and helps approximately 200 people maintain and gain housing each year. O’Connor emphasized that the nonprofit fills a unique gap in Oklahoma City by providing employment opportunities for individuals with significant barriers to re-entering the workforce.
Curbside Enterprises is currently in need of items to help the people they serve stay cool during the hot summer months. The nonprofit has an Amazon Wish List where people can donate cooling rags, sunscreen, hats, and other essential items. O’Connor encouraged the community to engage with the nonprofit’s programs, such as buying the Curbside Chronicle or ordering flowers from Curbside Flowers, to help create more opportunities for those in need.
