Little Friends, a service provider for people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), has joined forces with other Illinois-based providers to create a joint venture called Community Supported Care Partners (CSCP). This partnership aims to collaborate and create a better system for individuals who depend on Medicaid and Medicare for support.
Improving Services
The CSCP group celebrated its first year of working together, creating an infrastructure that has the potential to enable people with I/DD to lead healthier and more productive lives. The group’s focus is on having new solutions in place that are “People First, Provider Led, and Community Supported.” Little Friends is part of this initiative, working to provide ideas for potential improvement in Medicaid support, which has a significant impact on the adults they serve.
The Medicaid and Chip Payment Access Commission (MACPAC), a non-partisan legislative branch agency, has published a report with recommendations for Medicaid government support. These recommendations align with the core solutions that CSCP is working on to build, and the group believes they represent a great focus for opportunities to make improvement.
