A recent survey of 3,002 self-described “picky” single women in Florida found that a man’s online footprint is crucial in determining his perceived dateability. The study, commissioned by ReputationPros.com, analyzed which online markers suggest success, trustworthiness, and credibility to modern daters.
Digital Dating Traits
The survey compiled the top ten digital signals that Florida women find most attractive in potential partners, including Google Autocomplete suggestions, conference speaking engagements, and multiple podcast appearances.
Other attractive traits include influential reposts, national news citations, a large Substack subscriber base, an authenticated Wikipedia page, a TEDx talk, a strong LinkedIn following, and platform blue checkmarks.
The study also highlighted a strict demand for authenticity, with 57% of women stating they would be deterred if a man’s Wikipedia page looked self-created. Similarly, just over half of the respondents noted they would lose interest if a man’s articles, website, or LinkedIn posts appeared to be written by artificial intelligence.
Pre-Date Cancellations and Reputation Management
The consequences of these digital audits are tangible, with more than four out of 10 surveyed women reporting that they have actively canceled or avoided a date because of information or questionable content discovered during their online research.
To mitigate negative search results, an overwhelming majority of respondents noted they would respect a man more if they learned he hired a professional to manage his online presence.
