Summer McIntosh, the 19-year-old Canadian swimmer, has broken the record in the 200m butterfly event at the Canadian trials in Montreal.
McIntosh’s coach, Bob Bowman, believes that her best is yet to come, stating that she is still developing physically and will continue to push the limits in swimming as she matures.
McIntosh has been training with Bowman’s professional program at the University of Texas since last year and has already set multiple world records.
She recently won the 400m individual medley, although she was disappointed with her performance and is looking to improve.
McIntosh’s achievement has drawn praise from legendary swimmer Michael Phelps, who congratulated her on her record-breaking swim on Instagram.
