An 86-year-old woman in Moore died after a dog attack. The incident occurred while she was caring for a family pet.
On July 2, the woman was temporarily caring for a dog on behalf of family members. At about 5:45 p.m., the Moore Police Department responded to reports that the dog had attacked the woman in the area of Northeast 27th Street and Highland Drive.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the woman with severe injuries. Officers began life-saving measures, including applying tourniquets, until emergency personnel could arrive.
She was transported to a hospital with critical injuries, and she later died, according to police. The dog was removed from the residence by Moore Animal Control, where it is currently being confined.
