Portland kicked off its Fourth of July weekend in style as the Waterfront Blues Festival returned to the city’s beloved riverfront, drawing crowds for a celebration packed with live music and a dazzling fireworks show.
The festival featured performances by Alejandro Escovedo, Chuck Prophet, Glitterfox, and more, according to a review published by Glide Magazine. The annual event, a beloved Portland tradition, once again brought the community together along the Willamette waterfront for a night of blues, rock, and summer spirit.
Adding to the festivities, the fireworks show made its return to the Waterfront Blues Festival, with KOIN reporting that the Hawthorne Bridge drew thousands of spectators for the pyrotechnic display. OregonLive described it as a “perfect Fourth of July night,” noting that clouds cleared just in time for the show.
The festival continues to be one of the Pacific Northwest’s signature summer events, uniting music lovers and families along Portland’s scenic riverfront each Independence Day weekend.
