A tanker fire occurred around noon on Saturday, July 4, in Montgomery County, Alabama, causing the closure of the southbound Exit 164 ramp from Interstate 65 to U.S. Highway 31 for several hours.
The Montgomery Fire/Rescue responded to a mutual aid request from the Pintlala Volunteer Fire Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to help put out the fully-involved tanker fire, which was carrying about 9,000 gallons of gasoline.
The Montgomery County EMA, the Alabama Department of Transportation, and the power company also helped with the incident.
