Edmond’s LibertyFest started its Fourth of July celebrations with a massive parade, but severe weather in the area caused the postponement of the fireworks show on Friday night.
Fireworks Show Rescheduled
The decision to postpone the fireworks show was made with careful consideration, according to Eriech Tapia, president of LibertyFest. Tapia explained that the process involved consulting with fireworks operators, emergency managers, and weather experts from the National Weather Center.
Despite the disappointment, Tapia assured the community that the celebration is not over. The fireworks show will now take place at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Tapia encouraged people to stay updated on the LibertyFest Facebook and Instagram pages for the latest information.
