Seattle Mariners All-Star center fielder Julio Rodriguez was placed on the seven-day concussion injured list on Friday. Rodriguez, 25, left Thursday’s 1-0 home win over the Los Angeles Angels in the third inning after being hit in the back of the helmet with a throw.
In a corresponding move, the Mariners selected the contract of utility man Miles Mastrobuoni from Triple-A Tacoma. Seattle also transferred right-hander Cooper Criswell to the 60-day injured list due to a right shoulder strain.
Rodriguez is hitting .259 with 14 home runs and 40 RBIs in 87 games this season. Mastrobuoni, 30, has played in eight games this season with Seattle, batting .217 with one RBI in 23 at-bats.
