Natalie Portelli, 53, the wife of a New York-based U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent, has been arrested and faces charges including shooting or throwing a missile into a dwelling or structure, attempted second-degree murder, criminal mischief, battery, and battery by strangulation.
Incident Details
The charges stem from an alleged confrontation outside the home of an Orlando community service officer in December. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Angelo Portelli, Natalie’s husband, was accused of attacking the officer and firing shots into the occupied home while the officer’s girlfriend and her two children were inside.
Angelo Portelli’s arrest affidavit states that he was wearing a hoodie and a face mask during the confrontation, and Natalie Portelli was with him, wearing a blonde wig and a hoodie. The affidavit alleges that Natalie Portelli struck the community service officer multiple times with her fist and later retrieved Angelo Portelli’s cellphone from the crime scene.
The investigation expanded to New York, where officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection interviewed Angelo Portelli. He admitted being in Florida during the incident and acknowledged firing his agency-issued weapon.
