Todd and Elvia Malcolm were on a fishing trip in Telos Township, Maine, when they spotted a female moose near the edge of the woods. As they pulled over to take a photo, they noticed the moose appeared agitated. Suddenly, a bear and a moose calf burst from the woods, sprinting toward their truck.
Todd Malcolm knew he had to act fast to save the calf. He put the truck in drive and stepped on the gas, positioning the vehicle between the bear and the calf. The bear darted to the side of the road and disappeared into the woods.
A Successful Rescue
The Malcolms’ quick thinking and actions saved the moose calf. After the bear gave up the chase, Elvia Malcolm looked up the road and saw the calf reunite with its mother. The couple continued their fishing trip, grateful for the successful rescue.
