The NHL free agency period has entered its second day, with several high-profile players still on the market. Three-time Stanley Cup champion Patrick Kane and two-time winner Vladimir Tarasenko are among the top unrestricted free agents available.

Notable Signings

The Washington Capitals have re-signed Alex Ovechkin to a bonus-laden deal, while the Toronto Maple Leafs have signed former Capitals forward Brandon Duhaime to a three-year contract. The Minnesota Wild have been busy, re-signing their own free agents and acquiring forward Blake Coleman and defenseman Olli Maatta in a trade with Calgary.

The Montreal Canadiens have extended Jakub Dobes, the self-described ‘goofy goalie’ who was one of the stars of their run to the Eastern Conference Final, to a three-year deal worth just over $16 million.
