Stewart Cink and Charlie Wi are tied for the lead after the first round of the US Senior Open. Cink shot a 3-under 67, including five birdies on the back nine at Scioto Country Club. Wi also shot a 67, with a string of birdies on holes three through seven.

Cink, who is attempting to win his third straight senior major, struggled on the front nine but found momentum on the back nine. Wi, who has nine worldwide professional victories, made a double bogey on the par-4 eighth hole but ended his round with a par.
Simon Griffiths, Freddie Jacobson, and George McNeill are tied for third at 68, while defending champion Padraig Harrington is among a group of 10 players at 69.
