A man is missing after swimming with a child in the Lamoille River in Fairfax, Vermont. The child was taken to shore by a neighbor in a kayak, but the man hasn’t been found.
According to Vermont State Police, the incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. off Route 104 near Cleary Road. The search for the man continued as long as necessary, conditions permitting.
This is the third suspected drowning in Vermont in the last day. Police reminded the public that recent thunderstorms and rain have caused rivers to run strong and high.
