In Shreveport, fireworks are permitted within city limits from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. beginning Wednesday and running through Sunday. However, it is unlawful to discharge, ignite, or explode fireworks between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
Officials recommend keeping several safety rules in mind to prevent injuries and fires: Always keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby when using fireworks. Never point or throw fireworks at people, animals, or buildings. Do not allow young children to handle fireworks without an adult present. Be extra cautious in dry conditions, as a small spark can easily lead to a dangerous fire. Remain fully aware of all your surroundings while discharging fireworks.
