Sheridan County is taking steps to educate homeowners on wildfire safety. Recently, the Sheridan County Board of Commissioners issued a news release about fire safety. At the Clearmont Day Celebration on June 27, Chris Thomas, County Fire Warden, had a 3-D display to educate community members about how to keep their property safe from wildfires.

Wildfire Prevention Tips

Simple actions can help prevent wildfires. Homeowners can clean gutters, clear brush, and keep grass either grazed or green. The Forest Service display at the Clearmont Day Celebration provided examples of good and bad practices for wildfire prevention.
